So the ICONIC crew took a little trip up to Barcelona this past Saturday for some change of scenery and recon in preparation for the Sutra Sushi mega grand opening party in less than two weeks. Aside from staring at the beautiful Dawn on stage with ENVY (Barcelona’s live band) for a while, we were lucky enough to be able to sample some dishes from the brand spanking new Sutra menu… um, we were blown away. And we’re not just saying that because they are a valued client with enough power to make our bodies disappear, but because that ish was absolutely amazing!!

The dishes just started to fly out to us: THEIR DIABUTSU ROLL (which is gonna be a crowd favorite even though expensive at $20, but worth every damn penny) FOLLOWED BY CHICKEN SKEWERS WITH SHIITAKE MUSHROOMS IN GINGER SAUCE FOLLOWED BY BUFFALO SLIDERS FOLLOWED BY RARE COLD SAKE IMPORTED STRAIGHT FROM JAPAN… as they say in Japan… incredible! Or do they say that here as well?!

Can’t wait for all of you to taste for the first time the Sutra late night menu which is being unveiled exclusively at the grand opening… we tried some other super secret dishes that are going to blow your palate away!

There’s definitely a lot of sushi to go around in this town, but only a spoiled Beverly Hills brat has the right to rank what’s do-able and what is embarrassing… you may disagree, which is your right but understand that you’re wrong! You may think you know sushi, but i bet you eat nigiri with chopsticks, order California Rolls as if that is a serious sushi dish, and have no idea that dipping your sushi in a crap load of sauce is like stabbing the chef in the chest with a barb (too soon?!).

P.s. It is called SRIRACHA… not SIRACHA… 

HERE ARE THE ONLY PLACES IN TOWN THAT ARE ACCEPTABLE AND DAMN GOOD (in no particular order):::

::: STINGRAY Sushi - Downtown Scottsdale ::: a big bonus is the amazingly good looking hostesses and waitresses

::: BLUE WASABI Sushi & Martini Bar - North Scottsdale ::: just the North location, South location isn’t up to caliber yet

::: PURE Sushi Bar & Dining - North North Scottsdale ::: the second “North” is for how far North it is, but well worth the drive for a date or dinner meeting

::: ROY’S Restaurant - Downtown Scottsdale ::: the sleeper choice… trust and try it
